What Women Should Know When Dating

by: Nathalie Fiset

What women should know when dating

Unlike before, when the total outcome or atmosphere of dating solely depends on the man, women of today have learned how to take part of the entire process. They have realized that in order to make most out on a date, they have their own “roles” to play. They are now more enthusiastic and open to the idea that if they want to have a successful date, they have to follow basic and general rules in dating—especially in first dates.

WHEN EVE GOES ON A DATE

Even the most confident women experience anxiety attacks when they go out on a date…what more to those who are not so confident about themselves? If a woman decided to go on date—especially with the man she is interested with—there should be no space for self-doubt. Although being rejected can be a horrifying thought, women can never go wrong if they follow the simple rules on dating.

If you are up on a date, the first thing to consider is how to make the date itself enjoyable for the both of you. If he suggests something you cannot comfortable with, then offer him other alternatives. There’s no good in going on a date that you cannot enjoy yourself.

If you are too nervous and you think you’re not one of those women that are good conversationalists, make up for it by suggesting an activity that would keep you both preoccupied. This would take the pressure off on both parties and may lead to a more fluid conversation. (Tip: try to stay in tune with current events so the man will discover you’re not only pretty but smart as well.)

After breaking the ice, keep yourself in check. Make sure that you don’t go overboard by making nasty comments or by getting “too close” because this will turn him off. If you want to get a man’s attention, pay a lot more attention to him by listening to him rather than you talking.

Before leaving your house for a date, make sure that you leave your emotional baggage behind. Being emotional on a date over something will make a man feel you don’t need a lover but a psychologist or therapist.

Here are additional general rules on dating:

1. Always be gorgeous, decent, or at least presentable whatever your income is. Gorgeous women are one of the men’s guilty pleasures. Looking your best with that gorgeous hair, fancy clothes, and make-up can make you a head-turner anywhere.

2. Be discreet and mysterious. Especially on first dates, giving out too much pieces of information that are unnecessary will only turn him off. Remember, mysterious and enigmatic women stay on men’s minds compared to those who are not.

3. Know when less is more. Dates don’t have to take so much time as long as you keep the man interested. Lesser time might even pave the way for the second, third or fourth date because he would think that you need more time to know each other.

4. Keep that figure in check. Slim or fit women appeals to most men because it gives the impression that these women know how to take care of themselves. Taking a time off to workout in a fitness center or gym can be your investment in looking for your dream guy.

5. Time check. Remember, first impressions last that’s why you have to make sure that you are on time when you go out on a date.

6. Be interesting and interested. Although your date did not turn out to be your “dream guy,” be lady enough to stick until the end by keeping your sense of humor.

7. Even if you believe in gender equality, let the man pay the bills.

There you go, the most basic and effective rules in dating for women. If you think you did almost everything and still, the date did no turn out well, don’t sulk. Who knows, your next date will turn out your Mr. Right if you keep following these simple rules.

The Importance Of Your Online Dating Profile

by Jason King

If you're serious about finding love online then your online dating profile has to be a good advert for you. It needs to stand out from everyone else's profile. From the photo, to the your username to the details they will find when they click on your personal ad. Every part of it has to draw the single further towards contacting you.

The first part of your dating profile anyone will notice is your photo. Chances are your photo will be surrounded by a lot of photos where you can't tell what anybody looks like. A lot of photos on online dating services are taken from too far away. Usually they are one of someone's vacation photos. If your photo is clear, up to date and from the shoulders up it's going to stand out. You're going to be the first one any single is going to be noticed, and have some interest shown towards you. It will show that you are looking to start a relationship. And that's exactly what other singles are looking for.

Your username is what will attract them next. This is another part of your personal ad that can show them you're looking for romance. Everyone is anonymous online so be creative with your name as well as hiding your real name. Add some fun to it but don't make it sexual. Keep it clean, and then it won't turn anybody off. Something like Luvhere4u will put something in their mind, and make them think a bit. It will look good being backed up by an online dating profile photo that they're already interested in. It also tells the single browsing what your intensions are, and what you hope to gain from the online dating web site.

Next is your details. First thing you must do here is be honest. The last thing you want is to be caught out telling lies just when your about to get your first offline date with someone. You don't have to put your life story in there, just don't tell any lies.

Fill your online dating profile in with as much detail as necessary. You will get the usual bunch of boxes you can tick for various things, and then you have your description box. This is where you can sell yourself better than the next single. A lot of singles will leave this part blank, and just start searching the profiles. Then they wonder why no one is contacting them, and will blame it on the online dating web site. You need to add some spice to your profile. Tell them about your hobbies and why you do them. You can say what your goals in life are, and then someone will connect with them.

Use this space also to say what type of single you're looking for. Don't put anything negative in here though. Say what you're looking for but don't mention the things you don't want. If you want someone slim don't say you're not interested in anyone overweight. Put something positive like you're looking for someone who looks after their body. It takes the negative out of your profile. The more positive comments you have the more another single will be attracted to you.

If you keep your online dating profile positive, up to date and make the photo and username stand out you should have no trouble in getting contacted. And you will also have a much higher strike rate in getting replies from your e-mails.

Dating Advice You Can Use

by: Morgan Hamilton

There are many sources that you can turn to if you are looking for dating advice. The downside with getting dating advice is that you are unsure if you are receiving good advice on dating. Your father may give a few tips to help you, but is he offering useful advice, or is he just excited to have grandchildren? Some people rely more on their friends rather than their parents for some advice on dating. However, this may not be a good idea because what works for your friends may not work for you.

Some people have explored online dating in the hope of meeting someone special. This type of dating used to have an unpleasant reputation, but has recently become more legitimate and socially acceptable. Online dating used to be a guarantee that you will meet a potentially dangerous date. Fortunately, there are now many sane and attractive people that are using online dating to meet their future partners. Most of these dating sites also offer dating advice. If you sign up to a reputable site, you can be sure that the dating tips they offer will be reliable.

Besides online dating sites, there are also other places on the Internet that can offer good advice. There are websites that specialize in helping people find the love of their life, and most of them also offer dating advice. An online search will give you a lot of this type of website. But keep in mind that advice on dating is not one size fits all. If you live in an urban area, advice meant to help you find love at the mall might not work for you, but then again, it might. You may have to take some dating tips and make it fit to your life.

If you are newly divorced and are looking for some dating advice, you should look for sites that can help you catch up on the changes in the dating scene. If you have some friends who have divorced and have successfully reestablished themselves on the dating scene, they may be the best source of advice on dating for you. Whether you rely on your friends or turn to online dating site for advice, remember that the best dating advice is to always be yourself.

Online Dating Etiquette

by: Nathalie Fiset, M.D.

Today, as everyone who uses a computer and surfs the Internet knows, the World Wide Web can be used for a large number of reasons, the more popular uses among them being banking and e-commerce, shopping, and finding a partner in love. As the number of users like you has been growing steadily, so has the need for a set of manners and behaviors, or proper cyber dating etiquette, grown.

On social matchmaking and dating sites, social etiquette is very important, because today, more and more boys and girls are visiting these sites looking for love or companionship. What this means is that the cyber-dating scene has made it imperative for all you users to follow a certain code of etiquette. This way, any potential cyber faux pas or a break in protocol that would perhaps put you in a tough social situation can be avoided. After all, isn't it better to know the rules before you start dating, rather than wonder at the end of it all, “What happened. I thought we were getting along just fine?”

The first thing to remember, however, is to never sign yourself into an unknown and less used dating site. It is always a good idea to stick to a good and reputable site, where you can feel most comfortable, and be yourself. Such a dating site would never break your confidence and sell your e-mail identity to unscrupulous persons, and also, this type of site would never allow its users to use profanity in any form. The second thing to remember is to remain completely honest, whenever and wherever possible, in your profile and personal details. The reason is that if you really desire to get to know someone, and like that person, then the truth about you would come out eventually, when you meet him or her. Online dating etiquette therefore dictates that honesty is probably the better policy to follow.

You could set up a separate e-mail account, meant just for the purpose of dating. Choose your online user name wisely, and try not to go overboard with it, like for example, no one would actually want to get to know someone called 'Beach Bum'. Allow some time, at least a week, for a response to come through, and try not to write someone off, based on his or her very first e-mail. After all, he could simply be testing the waters. Remember to check your grammar and spelling, nothing could put someone off as much as bad grammar or poor spelling, and it may give a completely wrong impression about you, if you do not take this simple step in online dating etiquette.

Some people wonder, why is there no response from him or her? At times, it is best to know that when you contact someone you think you like, and that person does not respond, then it can be taken to mean that he or she is not interested in you. Experts say that the 'silent treatment', whether it is on your side, or on the other, is one of the best solutions to this problem, rather than having to write an entire essay on why he or she does not want to be your friend any more. In the same way, it would be best if you could refrain from asking too many personal questions in the very first e-mail, like for example, “Where do you live”, and “Where do you work?” All these questions can be brought up later, when it has been decided that there is indeed interest on both sides. If, however, you decide to end your online relationship, for whatever reason, then the online dating etiquette approves of sending an e-mail to end it, rather than making an embarrassing telephone call.

Finally, remember that once you have decided upon one individual, and feel that he or she is the one for you, then do not remain open to other offers. Nothing can put off an individual more than knowing that you are still interested in other people, after you have specifically chosen this one person as the love of your life. Therefore, etiquette says that you must close your account with the dating agency, if you feel that you have met Mr. or Ms Right. Do confirm by a politely worded statement, whether the other person feels the same, like for example, by saying, “Don't you think our profiles can come down now?” and then go about closing your account with the online dating agency. All the Best!

Online Dating - Meeting A Woman For The First Time

by: Timothy Mahar

You started online dating to meet a woman. Now it is time to meet your online match for the first time. Meeting her in a comfortable environment is your best strategy for transitioning to a relationship in the real world.

Meet As Friends

When it comes time to meet your online match in person, meet as friends. Don’t go to your first meeting with the idea in your mind that she is The One or might be The One. That puts way too much pressure on your first meeting.

Meet At An Agreed Place

When your match has decided that she is ready to meet you, let her pick the place to meet. This allows her to choose a place where she will feel comfortable. She may ask for some guidance and making a few suggestions is fine. You might also want to give her a few no-go places if you don’t enjoy a particular type of food, but you should try to be flexible. Unless one of you is driving a long distance, I would try to make the meeting fairly short. Meeting for lunch, coffee or dessert all work well since none implies huge expectations.

Dress Casual

I would suggest you discuss with your match dressing casual for your first meeting. I think that helps everyone to keep their expectations in check and promotes a friendly, comfortable environment to explore the possibilities for romance. Your focus should be on one another, not the clothes that you each are wearing.

Have Fun

When you finally meet your match, relax, be yourself and have a good time. You will look your best with a smile on your face.

Send An E-Mail After Your First Meeting

If you had a successful first meeting, before you go to bed, send her a short e-mail saying that you enjoyed meeting her in person. It is a nice way to let her know that you are interested and it is the best way to help move the relationship forward.

Transitioning To A Real World Relationship

Meeting your match for the first time is a big step in transitioning you from an online/phone relationship to one in the real world. It still may be awhile before your match feels comfortable enough to give you her phone number so that you can call or her address so you can pick her up for a date. That will come with time, try to be patient and understanding. Patience might get you somewhere, impatience won’t get you anywhere.

Dating Advice: Don't Sabotage a Special Relationship

by: Terry Hernon MacDonald

You're dating a new guy, and you're crazy about him. You're feeling vulnerable, you definitely don't want to get hurt, so you call a few friends to analyze things he's said to get their perspective. Is this a good idea?

Not really.

While it's tempting to give friends an I-said-he-said account of your conversations with a new love, it's a big mistake. You destroy whatever intimacy that developed. If you want a special relationship, keep it special by keeping it between the two people it involves: Him and you.

(Discount this advice if this man has ever hit you or threatened you in any way. In that case, RUN FOR THE HILLS. Dial 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) for help!).

As for a normal new boyfriend, your friends do not know him any better than you do (unless they're his sisters, in which case you should definitely keep quiet about him).

Do not invite other people to speculate about your relationship. It's not their place, and it's none of their business. Trust yourself to make the right decision about whether or not he is the one for you.

Avoid asking questions like, "Do you think he likes me?" and "What do you think it meant when he...?" Use a man's actions to gauge his feelings for you. If you don't understand something he did or said, ask him about it. For instance, "You asked me to meet you at 6:30, but you didn't show up until 7:15. Was there a lot of traffic?"

See what he has to say for himself. Does he seem genuinely sorry, or does he pull the same stunt the next time? Respond accordingly.

Acknowledge your own feelings, always: Do you feel good around him? Confident? Attractive? Or do you feel insecure? Stupid? Fat and ugly? You know how you feel around someone who likes you, so seek your own counsel.

When you discuss your relationship with other people, you cheapen it. You undermine it, too, because you've made it subject to others' opinions. You've raised the stakes because if the relationship tanks, you might as well have taken out an ad in the New York Times.

Give your new relationship the dignity it deserves and keep it to yourself. Offer it care and attention. Trust yourself to let it develop as it should. If it's meant to be, you'll know it.

If it's not, you'll know it,too.

Online Dating For Busy Singles

by: Jodie Brittain

Online dating is becoming very popular now.

An estimated 1 in 5 Americans are signed up to an online dating service meaning that, theoretically, if you're after a new date or just making new friends, you can have the pick of the bunch! Many busy Americans now increasingly rely on online dating service providers to find their matches.

No wonder, Internet has brought people of the world so closer and new concept of "speed dating" is evolved through internet dating to find a mate or simply a casual date.

Jessica Moore, in her mid-20s from New York City is one of the millions who are daily looking for date online. With her ravishing personality, it was not difficult for her to get "Mr. Right" for her. But she says online dating service provides her choice to select her "type" of person she could think of hanging out.

"Online dating sites help me to find someone from my location, the one who is doing his own business, having yearly income of not less than $150,000, who is a practicing Catholic Christian visiting church at least on every Sunday, someone who is a non-smoker and occasional drinker, and of course, who is serious in long term relationship", Jessica told.

According to industry expert, nearly 23 million people in the U.S. search online to find a date. One of the market leader companies, nearly 60,000 people, such as Jessica sign online daily. Other dating firms claim 10-15,000 people register their profiles at their sites.

As Jessica was going through her closet to find her favorite red long skirt, which she bought on her recent birthday, she told how she was feeling excited to meet with whom she has been dating online for couple of weeks. "When I came to New York city, I didn't know much about the city, its people. All I know about the city was that I saw it in movies, television or read," she said. "So, I just wanted to mingle with people, make new friends. Then I thought why shouldn't I give a chance to online dating. Maybe I can find someone who will of my interest," she smiled.

Jessica's colleagues, however, were skeptical of her dating online, since she told them she preferred traditional dating rather than internet dating.

"One fine evening, you see someone at cafe' or bar, you smile and you get positive response. Then you do some trick to get ball rolling. This all happens in traditional training; however, online dating is a different ball game." She acclaimed. "The advantage of online dating is that you know other person is equally interested in you. You do not need to try as hard as in traditional dating," she advised.

Though internet dating is not a new concept, it all started since the internet came into existence. In the beginning, people thought online dating as too hasty approach or too shallow. However, recent boom in online dating has proved them wrong. This could only be possible due to change in people's attitude towards online dating and their acceptance for online dating as a new mean of meeting people.

Does A Date Online Count as “Real” Dating?

by: Joe Davidson

The terms “online dating” and “dating online” are thrown around all the time, and used by practically any website that is primarily created to connect singles over the internet. But, in reality, what do these terms really mean? Can you really date someone online? Can you have a healthy dating life if it only exists online? How can you truly get to know someone if you've only been on online dates? Do those really count as 'real' dates?

Generally, dating online usually refers to the process of meeting people for potential dates online, or through an internet dating service. These services usually provide some help and guidance with which other members are most suitable matches, but for the most part, its up to each individual to find and introduce themselves to other members and potential people to date online. In this sense, online dating services act as an arena for singles to come and find other people interested in pursuing the same types of relationships as them.

The “dating” that takes place online is in the form of messages and emails that pass between people. Does this count as “real dating” even though there are no face to face conversations? Is 'dating' the time where people get to know more about each other? Do you have to be in the same room as someone to be on a 'date' with them? Although online dating is usually described as meeting, messaging, emailing, and eventually meeting other singles in person, the terms seem to be fairly accurate. Dating online can, and does take place, when two people find each other online and pursue a courting period, whether that is on or offline, where they get to know each other better and test the waters to see if there is a mutual attraction. Although an in person meeting may not take place until later, many of the same components (aside from the physical) take place through a date online. Although dating online isn't defined in the same was a traditional dating, the changes many peoples' romantic and sexual lives are experiencing due to technological evolutions, may warrant reconceptions of the definitions of certain terms, just as these advances have reconceived our notions of how to find love.

Tips In Choosing The Perfect Online Dating Site

by: Nathalie Fiset

The internet has become a breathing ground for both professional and amateur matchmakers. Although some matchmaking are conducted through chats, friendster messages, yms and emails, the use of cupid’s arrows are basically done through online dating sites that seem to have mushroomed in the World Wide Web.

In fact, there are about a hundred different dating sites in the Internet, offering different kinds of services for the lovelorn. Some charge a fee while others offer their online services for free. Others just charge for the membership and the space that a member’s profile and pictures will be occupying. Some use the classic matchmaking techniques of pairing off people according to their basic information like age and educational attainment. Others offer more refined searches, including information like favorite activities and other hobbies.

With so many online dating sites in the virtual world, it will at first be hard to choose where to sign up. Although there are actually no restrictions when it comes to the number of dating sites where you can register, it is of course better if you just sign up on a few sites that can give you quality results.

But what do you look for when choosing an online dating site. Below are some tips in selecting one that will help you find your one true love.

1. Reputation

One of the most important things to consider in looking for an online dating site is the reputation of the site. Remember that you will be putting in vital information for people to see. It is vital that the site that you will entrust these information with is legitimate.

Also if this is a site that charges a fee, you will also be revealing your credit card information; so take utmost caution.

Another advantage in choosing sites that have already established themselves in the industry of online dating is the fact that there will be more members who will sign up. More members mean that there will be more to choose from. The chances of finding someone that will jive with your personality are much bigger.

One downside though is the fact that these sites can also be haven of con artists and swindlers who use online dating sites for their nefarious activities. Whether you have signed up in a dating site with a large or small network of members, it is important to still be careful.

2. Matching points

It is good to choose sites that match their members on a wide range of qualities and points. That way, you will get matches that are more diverse, where you are not limited by age or any other basic stats. Different sites offer different techniques in finding potential dates. Find a system that works for you or that fits your own set of requirements when looking for dates.

3. Photographs

Although most sites will probably carry options for the uploading of photographs, it is important that you also ensure that the site do carry photos. The more the better as this is a great way to advertise oneself to potential dates and of course, also one way to help people choose from different matches.

4. Fee

For people who do not have the money to spare, fee can be a big issue. There are good sites that offer their services for free. These sites frequently earn from the advertisements that they get per web page.

There are also sites that are generally free but may charge minimal fees for additional services such as additional spaces for photos or additional pages and links in profiles. You can also take a look at these sites as their fees may be within your budget compared to other dating sites.

Improving Your Chances On Online Dating

by: Graham Billingham

It is in mans nature to find his or her partner in life; unless of course the person has made a commitment to the Single for Life Club. Some people have a hard time trying to find a partner in their lifetime. Because of their difficulty in finding a partner, they eventually are forced to join for the Single for Life Club.

Thanks to modern technology, the single people are slowly being driven to extinction. The internet has been able to connect people from all sites of the world to help them find the right person for them. Thanks to the internet a person two people from Tajikistan and Alaska may find love. The internet in a way has given single people a better chance to find the right person.

The internet has been able to do these because tons and tons of dating websites have popped up. All of these dating sites aim to help a single person find the right person and connect people from all areas of the world. These dating websites require the single person to create his or her own profile and pay the membership fees. Then the person can now freely surf for the person he or she thinks suits his or her type.

In the single persons part, he or she should learn to write a good profile page. The persons profile page is like the first impression he or she gives. If you write a stinky profile page, youll have the same chance in finding a date in the real world; which is zilch. A person who is hoping to find a date or partner online should learn to properly write his or her profile. Here are some tips to give you a much better chance compared to your real life chances.

1. Try to be witty in your profile. Having a sense of humor in your profile can attract attention. This is not funny when you just write, I am witty. It is just pathetic. Try to be creative. Write something like My mamma wants me out of the house, please take me home with you.

2. Dont be negative. Being negative will turn people off. Why would you want to hang out with a person who dampens your day? Dont write Just been busted again so Im looking again. Be happy and write something cheesy like looking for the person that could complete me. Yucky!! Dont try to be too cheesy, you can think of a better one.

3. Try to avoid using personal adjectives because sometimes they tend to either glorify or degrade you too much. If your mother always told you how smart and handsome you are you may want to rethink the way you describe yourself. Instead try writing things that you like doing. You can also describe what you are doing briefly; unless you have a lousy job like a clown.

4. When writing about the type of person you are looking for, try to be briefly descriptive but still have some vague scope. Heres a bad example, Im looking for a Donald Trump kind of Guy. This will only attract rich guys or those that wear wigs.

5. Try not to be sexual on dating sites profiles. If you are trying to be sexual there are other kinds of websites for you.

The important thing to remember in creating your profile is try not to like what you dont want. Instead write what you are looking for. Another important thing to remember in online dating is that since it gives you more chances to find a date, it will also give you more chances that the date could be a dud. Thats why when relying on online dating sites, you should have a very open mind.
